Men are invited to join us on our WWII trip through some of the most significant parts of England, Belgium and France during that world changing war.

We'll fly direct overnight from DFW to London. After landing mid-morning, we'll drop off our luggage and begin exploring.

That afternoon and the next full day in London we'll enjoy an enlightening walking tour to see important places and hear memorable stories of WWII's effects on this strategic city. During WWII London served as the nerve center for the Allied war campaign..

We'll love our visit to the Churchill War Rooms, the underground hide out where England's Prime Minister Winston Churchill led his country during the war. When WWII ended Churchill and his cabinet essentially walked out of their wartime bunker across from Buckingham Palace and it has reminded largely as it was since then.

We'll also enjoy seeing St Paul's Cathedral and the American Memorial Chapel inside of it. Though this massive cathedral was directly hit multiple times during the war, it famously survived due to a committed group of men who kept watch to ensure any incendiary bombs or fires were immediately put out.

Of course we'll also see the Monument to Women of WWII that has sculptures of 17 different wartime uniforms to showcase the roles over seven million British women served in both military and civilian roles to support the war effort.

After two nights in London we'll take a scenic train ride to Brussels, Belgium. We plan to have a few hours to see Brussels and benefit from a brief walking tour about occupied Brussels to learn more about its role in WWII.

Even though the city fell to the Nazis, the Belgians remained famously resistant to their power. The Brussels City Council refused to hand out yellow Stars of David to its Jewish citizens and many locals were part of a huge underground resistance network that sabotaged rail lines, staged strikes and helped around 800 downed Allied airman and soldiers escape Nazi-occupied Europe through a secret smuggling network.

Next, private vans will take us to Bastogne, Belgium, where we'll spend our next two nights.  

In Bastogne we'll see firsthand where the famous Battle of the Bulge took place, walk the Bois Jacques Foxholes, explore the Bastogne War Museum, and take in the Mardasson Memorial honoring fallen American troops.

The Battle of the Bulge sealed Germany's fate to lose the war. This decisive battle, along with the Battle of Normandy (which sites we will also visit) are seen by many historians as the most significant battles on the Western Front during WWII.

As we drive from Belgium to France we will stop in Reims, France to experience the Museum of the Surrender, where WWII officially ended with Nazi Germany's unconditional surrender. The War Room where the signing happened is still in tact with original furniture and maps.This building was U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower's secret headquarters during the final months of the war.

From Reims we will head near Normandy, where we will stay two nights as well. During our full day in Normandy we will see the D-Day beaches, hear stories of the battle and visit the Museum of the Battle of Normandy.

The Battle of Normandy was an important turning point in the war as it liberated Western Europe when over 156,000 troops successfully stormed five beaches by air and sea, allowing the Allies to push inland and take territory back from the Nazis.

Finally, we'll enjoy our last day and night of our trip in Paris with a meaningful walking tour about the French occupation and visit the Museum of the Liberation of Paris. Taking control of Paris had been a huge dream of Hitler's and the city served as the headquarters for the German military administration after he occupied it.

Even the Eiffel Tower has a lot of interesting WWII history as a symbol of French resistance. The French cut the elevator's cables so that German soldiers would have to climb to the top of the tower to place their huge "V" sign for victory on it. When the Allies were advancing toward Pairs to take the city back Hitler ordered for the city and the Eiffel Tower to be destroyed, but his order was disobeyed.

Eventually, around a year before the war ended, a group of French firefighters and museum worked climbed The Eiffel Tower through sniper fire and replaced the German placed flag with the French one.

This trip will require some walking to enjoy it. We have transportation between major places but seeing sites and being in large cities means easily walking 15,000 steps or more a day. In older cities and villages we may be walking on cobblestones or unpaved areas and in Europe there always seem to be random steps and stairs.
