Part I: The Kilimanjaro
Sept 26 - Departure
Depart from the United States.
The first day is a long flight ladies! We will talk about snack and ideas to make it more enjoyable, but set your mind for a long journey that will be worth it in the end.
Sept 27- Arrival in Kilimanjaro
Arrival: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO).
Accommodation: Kaliwa Coffee Lodge.
Highlight: The views are absolutely stunning from Kaliwa, waking up to Mount Kilimanjaro majesty, this was our favorite spot to celebrate any special occasions when our family lived in Tanzania. Enjoy a legendary Tanzanian fresh breakfast, with coffee grown on the mountain beside your room, while taking in the iconic views of Mt. Kilimanjaro from a hammock before the clouds swallow her up in her misty veil.
This is a relaxing day to start your journey through Tanzania.
Sept 28 | Coffee & Waterfalls
Activity: Morning Coffee and Waterfall Tour.
This is our mini Kilimanjaro "hike"! A lovely walk up through the jungle to see (and swim) in hidden waterfalls and then experience the "bean-to-cup" process in the foothills of the this famous mountain! The walk will take a few hours total.
Transfer: Travel toward Arusha with Autumn and Juma.
Accommodation: Rivertrees Coffee Plantation. Enjoy the lush grounds of this former coffee estate, watch several species of monkeys swing by at meal times and walk along the river paths in the evening to get yourself ready for sleep.
Sept 29 - Time for Safari
Morning: Meet hiking and safari team join together.
Cultural Stop: Visit the Cultural Heritage Center in Arusha for art, maasai and curios.
Afternoon: Scenic drive toward the national park of Tarangeri.
Accommodation: Sangaiwe Simba Lodge.
Experience: Keep an eye on the swimming pool for visiting elephants and zebras, and watch for resident warthogs along the paths.
Sept 30 - Tarangire National Park
Activity: Full-day game drive in Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds, graceful giraffes and ancient baobab trees.
Accommodation: Sangaiwe Simba Lodge.
Oct 01 - Sleeping on the Crater Rim
Morning: Late morning start with local cultural stops and community visits to see the Maasai people.
Transfer: Drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Accommodation: Hhando Coffee Lodge.
Highlight: Sunset views over the crater rim. Watch for elephants on the ridge and enjoy the vibrant birdlife (but remember: don't feed the baboons!).
Oct 02 - The Ngorongoro Crater
Activity: "The Circle of Life" Crater Tour. Descend 2,000 feet into the caldera for high-density wildlife viewing, including the Big Five. This is a day jam-packed with animals on either side of your safari vehicle, so be ready to be amazed!
Evening: Return to Hhando Coffee Lodge for your final night in the highlands of Tanzania.
Oct 03 - Stone Town Immersion
Travel: Transfer to the airport; fly 1 hour to Zanzibar (ZNZ) the island of spices.
Tour: Private Stone Town Tour led by Godfrey. Explore the winding alleys, historic architecture, and the deep soul of the island.
Then retreat to your relaxing beach front views and tropical breezes on Island Time.
Oct 04 - Island Leisure
Activity: Beach Day. Total relaxation on Zanzibar’s white sand beaches and turquoise waters.
Oct 05 - Safari Blue & Snorkeling
Activity: Snorkeling Safari with Godfrey and his tiny boat crew. Explore coral reefs, see a rainbow of fish and search for wild dolphins in the Indian Ocean.
Dining: Traditional fresh-caught seafood buffet!

Oct 06 - Sunset & Departure
Afternoon: Return to Stone Town.
Farewell: Final Traditional Dhow Cruise featuring local Tanzanian snacks and music.
Departure: Evening transfer to Zanzibar International Airport for your flight back to the USA.
