Are you ready to enjoy parts of Greece many don't get to see?! This trip is for those who enjoy Bible history and seeing Greece in its beautiful spring glory.

Come away with Travel Coach Jami on a journey through Greece next April. This is a beautiful time of year to experience the Greek countryside in our private sprinter van with our own driver and guide as we visit significant places where the Apostle Paul walked and taught before we finish up our trip enjoying Athens.

We'll start our adventure by visiting some of the awe-inspiring monasteries in Meteora. Seeing centuries-old monasteries atop giant rocky cliffs is a bucket-list dream. Monks began these monasteries in the 14th century as places to live quiet lives of seclusion. The mix of architecture, history and nature is unforgettable. For our first night in Greece we'll have a wonderful time staying near these monasteries in a unique guesthouse at the foot of the cliffs.

Next, we'll drive through the scenic Greek countryside to visit modern Veria, the Biblical city of Berea, where Paul taught after fleeing for his safety from a nearby city. We plan to visit the monument marking the site where Paul taught the Bereans, the Jewish Quarter and the old Synagogue in Veria. The Bereans were known as noble followers of Christ in Acts 17:10-15.

We'll then drive on to Thessaloniki, where we'll spend three nights in an adorable boutique Greek hotel with a dreamy atmosphere.

In Thessaloniki we'll walk through the ruins of the Roman Forum where Paul exchanged ideas with Greeks and Jews. There is also a 14th-century Monastery known to be on the site (or very near to it) of the home of Jason, Paul's friend and host in Thessaloniki (Acts 17:5-9). Tradition holds that friends of Paul and Silas helped them escape from Jason's house through the city's ancient walls when an angry mob gathered to attack them. Paul wrote two letters to the people of Thessaloniki in the Bible: 1 and 2 Thessalonians.

We'll also take a day trip from Thessaloniki to Philippi, documented in the Bible as an important Roman colony and the location where Paul began the first European church. This city was home to the Philippians, talked about in its own book (Philippians) of the Bible and in Acts 16.

Lydia was a wealthy businesswoman Paul met in Philippi and she opened her home to Paul as there was no local synagogue for him to teach from. Paul was also imprisoned in Philippi with his friend Silas. When an earthquake hit, he and Silas chose to remain in jail, leading the jailer and his family to believe in Jesus and be baptized. Once the local authorities discovered Paul was a Roman citizen they quickly expelled him from Philippi, fearing repercussions because they had not given him a trial appropriate for a Roman citizen.

In Philippi we will visit the beautiful open-air chapel where Lydia was baptized, the underground Roman structure believed to be where Paul and Silas were miraculously freed during an earthquake and the Roman Forum, where Paul's accusers flogged him during his trial. There is also an archaeological museum with some amazing artifacts for those interested.

After enjoying far northeast Greece we'll head back to Athens where we'll spend our final few nights. Our Athens hotel is in a great location to explore from and enjoy the lively historic feel of Athens. It's a perfect place to enjoy the heartbeat of one of the most historically important cities in the world.

From Athens we'll have time to explore, shop and eat. Of course we can see where Paul is said to have delivered his sermon to the Athenians in Acts 17:16-34. We'll also wander through the ruins of the ancient agora of Athens where Paul himself walked during his second missionary journey. While taking in magical views of the Parthenon atop the Acropolis we can eat delicious Greek food from springtime flowering rooftops.

On our final day in Greece we'll take a short road trip to Corinth.

Corinth was a very important city during ancient times in Greece due to its strategic location. Paul stayed there a year and a half, helping to establish a strong Christian community, to whom he wrote two New Testament letters: 1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians. It was here Paul became close with Aquila and Priscilla as they worked their tent making trade together.

We'll visit the archaeological sites of the ancient city, such as the Temple of Apollos, the Roman forum and where Paul is believed to have stood trial, the Bema.
